Reiki is to be considered a spiritual ‘laying of hands’ style of treatment. It has yet to be studied in any depth by Western science. There is no manipulation, massage, acupressure or any other form of manual therapy performed on the patient which can both improve the procedures appeal, and also provide ammo for skeptics.
However, some studies have shown that the temperature of a practitioner’s hands is considerably higher after performing Reiki, or is this simply yet another myth of alternative therapy?
The name Reiki comes from the Japanese pronunciation of two Chinese characters that are said to describe the energy itself: ‘rei’ (meaning ’soul’, ’spirit’ or ‘ghost’) and ‘ki’ (meaning ‘life force energy’).
Natural healers use this Japanese technique that employs a method for clearing negative energy. If a person’s life force energy is low or blocked then sickness and/or anxiety will be the outcome. A laying on of hands initiates the energy healing.
Psychic intuition is what you come to know, a sort of an instinctive knowledge you get, without the help of any process involving reasoning. It is a gut feeling you get before anything happens. It is a feeling you get before something occurs, without knowing specifically what is about to happen. A precise definition of intuition may be difficult to arrive at, but one can say that it is a form of unconscious knowledge.
