Communicating to loved ones on the other side is very simple and not as complicated and frightening as everyone makes it out to be. Your loved one just wants to come through for you to know that they are still with you. They are just in another form in different dimension. Death separates us from the physical closeness of our family members and loved ones. It is only natural that we grieve for the loss of the human companionship and interactions we had with our friends and family, including beloved pets when they were living with us in the physical form. We can no longer reach out and touch them or pick up the phone and talk to them. We experience heartache being separate from their physical beings, no longer given the opportunity to give hugs, touch their faces or hear their laughter. Just as your intuition tells you to avoid certain people that you come into contact with in your daily life, the same applies when contacting people who have passed over. You do not have to tolerate rude ignorant people in the physical world and the same goes for beings from the spirit world. The secret is always asked for guidance and protection from the highest and the best. It’s also important when working with spirit to keep one’s self physically and mentally healthy as this helps build a strong vibrant auric field which is essential in making contact with the higher beings of light.

Your spirit guides will make themselves known in a variety of subtle ways. Guides will always appear in whatever way makes you feel most comfortable.

The most common is through symbols, or touch on various parts of your body for example cobweb sensation brushing across ones face, or a tingle sensation in a particular part of the body. The most effective way, of contacting your spirit guide, in particular for beginners is through meditation. There is no secret to meditation; it is simply a process for slowing down mental activity and focusing one’s mind on a particular outcome. For example by focusing your attention on improving your health, wealth or creativity, will in time bring desired results. Making time for ourselves is not something we find easy in the hustle and bustle of modern living. How Karma Unfolds: The mind, although formless, is a separate entity from the body. After the body passes away at death, the mind does not cease, but passes into a deeper subconscious state. According to The Tibetan Book of the Dead, this state is called the bardo state, meaning intermediate state. In this place, past karma, both positive and negative, arises in the mind-essence. By chance, one ripens and rebirth follows to fulfill that karma. It is a misconception to think that karma has to follow a linear path; karma can ripen many lifetimes after the particular life in which it was created.

Ceasing the Effects of Negative Karma: Many times difficulties seem to arise out of nowhere. Our usual response is to complain or blame, which is a negative response to the already negative karma manifesting from our past. That kind of response creates even more negative karma. A more conscious reaction when we are having difficulties is to accept the blame, as it is our actions from the past that created the present difficulty. We should not have harsh thoughts or actions towards ourselves or anyone else regarding the matter. We create positive karma when we respond positively to the negative. Many times this can also clear the effect of the particular negative karma. And when we are experiencing the effects of positive karma – when things are going well in our lives – we should use the time to further develop equanimity, so that when faced with difficult challenges again, we have the ability to respond with more acceptance and patience. We have this potential at every moment of our lives.

Ending Karma and Rebirth: The most positive karma comes from the motivation to relieve all beings from suffering. The purest way to do this, is to liberate ourselves from the bondage of the ego, as our liberation, (or salvation in the Christian religion), helps to free others from the bondage of their ego. It is our egos that separate us from One Mind, God-Consciousness, and Universal Love. Etc. Once we are liberated, we are free from the effects of karma and rebirth. However, a liberated being might choose, out of deep compassion, to be reborn to help others purify their minds and open their hearts. In Buddhism, these beings are called Bodhisattvas (bode-e-saht’-vas). (Some people think of Christ as one.) It is also thought that Bodhisattvas can disguise themselves to become teachers for us, so we never know if our spouse, friend, or neighbour is such a being. Perhaps it was not “our child” that died so young from illness, but a great Bodhisattva taking the body of a child: To be born to us, to be loved by us, and to be grieved by us – all for the purpose of opening our hearts more deeply.

Good Works as Positive Karma: If we don’t have liberation as a goal, we should at least do good works to help others from their immediate suffering. Every good action, thought or word creates positive karma, so even a kind smile or uplifting thought towards someone is beneficial. Being kind, as a means to create positive karma for ourselves, would essentially seem be a selfish act, and ultimately it is. Therefore, we dedicate the positive karma that we have created to other beings – i.e., we give it away – a very loving act! By giving it away we don’t reinforce our egos with ideas of “good karmic medals”, so to speak. In the beginning, we may not be able to do this very sincerely, but as we practice daily, our compassion becomes more pure and authentic…

What’s the difference & how do I know which one to choose?

There seems to be, and apparently always has been, much confusion over the definitions between psychics, mediums and clairvoyants. Many people don’t know the difference between all of these ‘names’ that those of us that work with spirit and energy are blessed with.

Psychic: A psychic is a person who is responsive to psychic forces. These people may be capable of extrasensory perception, telepathy and other extraordinary abilities.

Medium: A medium is a person through whom the spirits of the dead are said to be able to contact the living. These people may often be referred to as channelers since they act as a conduit for the spirits of the dead.

Combination: If a person is a psychic medium, than they should have qualities of both. Those who can allow the dead to speak through them, as well as communicate telepathically with others, are examples of psychic mediums.

1. Clairvoyance when mediums have the gift of seeing the spirit.
2. Clairaudience when mediums have the gift of hearing the spirit.
3. Clairsentience when a medium feels senses the presence and the thoughts of the spirit.

A good clairvoyant will, and indeed should, validate things for you that have happened in the past and things that are happening in the present. If they don’t, how will you know or believe if what they are saying about the future holds any weight?

As a footnote to the ‘fortune telling’ side of things, from my own experience, I tend not to give too much future information, as I believe it is subject to change, even though things are generally mapped out for us, we still have free will and the ability to ‘change our fate‘. For example, if I were to tell someone I can see they are going to meet a man abroad in two months time, it means that I can see that happening subject to the way they are leading their life at the present time. If they then go out and plan a holiday unexpectedly to try and make that happen, the chances are they won’t meet the person I saw for them because they have ‘changed their own fate‘, by arranging a holiday. It may have been that they would have met them via a business trip abroad that they now won’t be on, because they are away from work, on holiday!! I hope you get my meaning?

It also might come into play from a psychic perspective as you may well feel something about the person you are reading directly. For example you might physically feel a quick pain in your arm if they have injured it recently. However, it might not be something physical that you feel, it can also be defined as an inner knowing, so just a feeling you get about something, like a gut feeling. You may just energetically feel or just know somehow that the person you are reading has a bad arm.

The simple version is that a medium is someone that ‘talks to dead people‘!
(Now the boy in the film Sixth Sense would be a clairvoyant/medium, because to quote him “I see dead people!”)

Is that a medium by another definition is the ‘channel’ by which information from spirit passes through or indeed is the channel through which any energy passes.

By this definition all of us indeed are mediums.

So someone that calls themselves a clairvoyant/medium, by rights, should be able to describe your loved ones from the spirit world and also to describe visually things around your home or family for example. It has been brought to my attention that there are a few ‘clairvoyant/mediums‘ out there, that aren’t in fact either of these! They may ‘read’ people, but they may be reading via their psychic or sentient ability and not actually ‘seeing’ anything at all, or indeed they may not be able to talk with your loved ones in spirit either. This doesn’t mean they aren’t good readers, it just means they might not be offering you the sort of reading you were really after. Never be afraid to ask your ‘reader’ how they work, they should always be more than happy to explain it to you. This way, you know what sort of reading you can expect.

Signs of Psychic Ability:

1. The telephone rings and you know who it is.

2. You know what someone is about to say to you before they say the words.

3. You get a hunch or knowing about something and it turns out to be correct.

4. You get a sudden urge to go somewhere or do something, and when you do that thing, and it turns out to be the right thing that you should have done. And you are pleased.

5. You get a sudden urge to go somewhere or do something, and you ignore it or don’t do it, and it turns out that you should have. And you regret it.

6. You can understand someone’s true inner feelings even though on the outside they are hiding them.

7. You have a feeling that there is a presence or that someone or something behind the scene is helping you.

8. When something happens in your life, either good or not so good, and you suddenly understand a higher purpose behind it.

9. You sometimes hear a soft inner voice tipping you off about things happening in your life or in the life of someone else.

A true psychic goes through years of training and initiation, which develops spiritual, moral, ethical values and responsibilities. This is not a formalized educational process that someone can teach you, but an individualized growth process that is different for every individual. When we wear one of our favourite colours, we usually feel better. We also may find that depending on our mood we might be attracted to wearing a different colour of clothing.

Sound is vibrational frequency that is non visible and we all know how the beat and tempo of a song can effect our moods. When we are sad we might listen to an up tempo song to cheer us. When we are having a hard time concentrating, we might play a relaxing melody. Therefore, it makes sense that both colour and sound could have healing properties.

Colour and sound healing is reflected in another known system called the chakra system as represented in the chakra energy wheels. It is believed that this system represents the electromagnetic energy field of a living organism, which in our case is called the human aura.

If you were to receive a colour and sound healing, the therapist would most likely work with one of the twelve basic colours most commonly used in this work, along with a complementary sound or tone to achieve a desired result. Some common colours in this system are:

RED is hot, initiating, pushes through, fire, igniting, stimulating, vitality, anger, life-force energy, revolution, change, ambition, grounding, Earth, Gaia, power, war, passion, alert, danger, pioneering, activity and force without consciousness, blood, positive, aggression, liberation, survival, material side of life, primal, awakening, emerging. In relation to the physical body, RED is good for circulation, chronic illness, non-infected wounds, scar tissue, strengthens kidneys, heart, muscles, blood, lungs, bones. RED lives in the Root or Base Chakra.

ORANGE is joy, happiness, warmth, creativity, pleasure, sensuality, sexuality, generosity, moves energy gently, awakening to wisdom within oneself, sociable, aspiring, gregarious. In relation to the physical body, ORANGE is good for depression, cramping anywhere in body, relaxant, sclerosis, heart disease, boosts immune system, circulation, raises blood pressure, artery disturbance (especially in legs), genitals, fear (alternate with blue), endocrine balancer (when used with blue), cleans and purifies hormonal system. ORANGE warms the Sacral Chakra of creativity.

YELLOW is mental activity, learning, intellect, acquired/learned knowledge, little will, individuation, alertness, concentration, focus, cheerful, sun, warmth, cleaning, fear, left brain, empowerment, self-esteem, confidence. In relation to the physical body, YELLOW is good for combating fear (obsessive, habitual), digestion, stomach, gall bladder, liver, immune system, fortifies endocrine and nervous systems, nerve tonifier, motor stimulant, assimilation, lateral disturbances, helps chronic to become acute. YELLOW clearly says “here I am” in the Solar Plexus Chakra.

OLIVE speaks of new beginnings, hope and peace. It is the colour of new spring growth, life coming out of dormancy. Lives in the area of the xyphoid process which is the bridge between the lower and higher Chakras.

GREEN is sedative, cooling, calming, soothing, fluidity, growth, balance, money/prosperity, birth, new beginnings, nature, health, healing, heart, loving, expansion, curiosity, and good for people who do precision work, space, trust, feelings, integrity, harmony, seeking Truth, relationships. In relation to the physical body, GREEN is good for liver, swelling or growth, anti-inflammatory, eye problems, bronchial catarrh, gout, diabetes, cysts, tumours, pituitary stimulant, washes out endow-toxins, promotes healthy bones, painful joints, and allergies. GREEN abides in the Heart Chakra centre.

TURQUOISE is bridging colour, higher heart, making contact with yourself, communication of the heart, creative communication, studying and gathering information, learning, unconditional love, self-respect, respect for all life, taking individual responsibility, silica technology: crystals, computers, media. In relation to the physical body, TURQUOISE is good for immune system, skin (burns and infections), mental relaxation, acidic, tonifier, regulates lung/large intestine systems. TURQUOISE stimulates the Thymus centre, or Higher Heart Chakra. This Chakra has only been recently awakened by cosmic time. TURQUOISE resonates at the Higher Heart Chakra located at the thymus gland.

BLUE is calming, deep inner peace/”peace that surpasses all understanding”, nurturing Mother and protecting/benevolent Father, deep, restful, openness, cooling, relaxing, assists in making deep changes, higher mental activities (3rd eye), insight, wisdom, sky, water, sadness, faithful/true blue, unity, safety, godliness, communication that comes through us, clarity. In relation to the physical body, BLUE is anti-bacterial, anti-infection, anti-cramping, headaches, helps farsightedness, and facilitates restful sleep, pain relieving, nervousness, insomnia, haemorrhage, herpes, warts, lowers blood pressure, fever. BLUE creates the open space for clear communication at the throat and resonates with the Throat Chakra.

INDIGO/ROYAL BLUE is the higher mind that is connected to the all-that-is, the akashic records, and the cosmic library. It is the colour that makes contact with your “inner vision” or intuition, that part of you which sees beyond the five senses. It resonates at the causal Chakra at the back apex of the head. INDIGO/ROYAL BLUE says claim your inner power. INDIGO/ROYAL BLUE resonates at the Ajna or 3rd Eye Chakra.

VIOLET is stimulates emotions, meditation, inspiration, intuition, inner emotional release, opening inner doors, stimulates dreams, wisdom, spirituality, higher mind, power, Thy will, letting go, vision, transformation, alchemy, loyalty, synthesis, integration, mysticism, clairvoyance/clairaudience/clairsentience, service, union, artistry, balance of male and female. In relation to the physical body, VIOLET is good as for menopause, spleen, and sedative, relaxant, builds leucocytes, lymphatic relaxant, soothes solar plexus; neutralize mercury from fillings, anti-viral. VIOLET, a combination of blue and red, connects the spirit and matter of yourself at the Crown Chakra.

WHITE/CLEAR pigment is the lack of any colour, while WHITE/CLEAR light contains all colours. Since all colours are present, white does everything on all levels: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually (pems). White is about purity, innocence, softness, illumination, release, brilliance, radiance, transcendence, merging with God/Goddess/Universe/Nature/Spirit or whatever one calls their higher power. In relation to the physical body, WHITE/CLEAR is good for everything as the innate intelligence of the body will take whatever colours it needs. WHITE/CLEAR, being all colour, resonates with not only all Chakras, but everywhere in our Being. WHITE/CLEAR lives in all the Chakras, but is often associated with the Crown Chakra.

MAGENTA is bridge to Spirit, connection with Divine Love, caring in the little things, Love from above, beyond passion into compassion, abundance that is always there. Magenta connects us to what it is like to exist out of our physical bodies as pure Spirit. It is the bardo state, when we have left our physical shells and before we incarnate into a new physical lifetime. MAGENTA is that in-between place, the place beyond the veil of physical illusion. MAGENTA resonates above the Crown Chakra at the Transpersonal or Soul Star Chakra.

All these colours or rays are believed to possess certain qualities that can influence our energetic systems and may address our mental and emotional states in accordance to what the therapist feels is our optimal need. Reiki is to be considered a spiritual ‘laying of hands’ style of treatment. It has yet to be studied in any depth by Western science. There is no manipulation, massage, acupressure or any other form of manual therapy performed on the patient which can both improve the procedures appeal, and also provide ammo for skeptics.

However, some studies have shown that the temperature of a practitioner’s hands is considerably higher after performing Reiki, or is this simply yet another myth of alternative therapy?

The name Reiki comes from the Japanese pronunciation of two Chinese characters that are said to describe the energy itself: ‘rei’ (meaning ‘soul’, ‘spirit’ or ‘ghost’) and ‘ki’ (meaning ‘life force energy’).

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a form of treatment technique used as a complementary therapy for the treatment of physical, emotional, and mental illnesses. This practice is based around the understanding that life is supported by an unseen, life-force energy (Ki). When this energy is low, one is likely to become ill. Practitioners use this life force energy channeled through their hands to bring about relaxation and healing to the patient. Reiki healing has been widely known to have positive (sometimes miraculous) effects in treating virtually every known illness and is always beneficial to the patient being treated.

Reiki Hand Positions

Position 1
Place your hands together over the eyes. Cup your hands gently so that the palms do not touch the eyes, which can be uncomfortable for the client. Rest the base of your hands on the forehead, and allow the tip of your fingers to rest very lightly on the cheeks. If your hands start to sweat put a cloth or paper tissue above the eyes.

Position 2A
Cup your hands gently around each ear.

Position 2B (optional)
Rest your hands on the crown of the head.

Position 3
Slide your hands gently under the head. Hold the head with the hands together and the fingers extending towards the neck. Cup your fingers around the skull touching its base with your fingertips.

Position 4A
Wrap your thumb under the neck and rest your hands and fingers over the collarbone.

Position 4B (alternate)
Wrap your hands lightly around the chin and throat.

Position 5
Gently slide your left hand under the neck. Place your right hand over the heart.

Position 6
Rest your hands on the upper stomach. Place the fingers of one hand under the base of the other hand to connecting the flow of healing energy.

Position 7
Slide both hands to the middle area of the stomach.

Position 8
Slide your hands one more time placing them over the lower abdomen over the hip bones.

Position 9
Use both hands to hold the right foot.

Position 10
Use both hands to hold the other foot.

Position 11
Now hold both feet using both hands in any way that’s comfortable for you.

Position 12
At this point ask your patient to flip to the prone position. Place your hands over the upper back keeping your fingers close together.

Position 13
Rest your hands on the upper back. Place the fingers of one hand under the base of the other hand to connecting the flow of healing energy.

Position 14
Slide both hands to the middle back.

Position 15A
Slide both hands on more time Slide your hands down one more time placing them on the lower back.

Position 15B (optional)
Place hands behind the heart and on the lower back.

What is Numerology?

Numerology is the study of the mystical significance of numbers.

In its simplest form it manifests in the way many cultures, and individuals, consider certain numbers to be lucky or unlucky. For example:

Four is considered unlucky by the Chinese, Japanese, and Korean because it sounds like the word for “death”.

Seven is considered lucky by many cultures, but not the Chinese as it has connotations with the dead (eg the Festival of the Hungry Ghosts is in the Seventh Lunar Month).

Eight is considered lucky by the Chinese and Japanese, because it sounds like the word for “prosper”.

Thirteen is considered unlucky by most Western cultures, because Judas Iscariot, the disciple and betrayer of Jesus, was the thirteenth man at Jesus’ Last Supper. The belief is so strong that 13 is sometimes omitted as a house number or floor number in a building. However, thirteen is considered lucky in Italy. It is also considered lucky in China, because it sounds like the word for “sure life”.

Numbers and the Individual

Numerology often focuses on the digits 1 to 9, with higher numbers being reduced by the summation of the constituent digits, eg 59 may be reduced to 5 thus: 5 + 9 = 14, 1 + 4 = 5. The two basic numerological indicators for an individual are calculated from their birth date and full birth name.

The birth date number, also known as the life path (or destiny) number, is calculated by adding the digits of the full date of birth, eg Feb 1st 1964 (2/1/1964) becomes 2 + 1 + 1 + 9 + 6 + 4 = 23 = 2 + 3 = 5.

The life path number indicates your purpose in this life, your reason for being here.

The number calculated from the full birth name is known as the expression number. A number is assigned to each letter of the birth name according to the following chart.

For example, John Walter Smith becomes:

   J   O   H   N   W   A   L   T   E   R   S   M   I   T   H
   1 + 6 + 8 + 5 + 5 + 1 + 3 + 2 + 5 + 9 + 1 + 4 + 9 + 2 + 8
   = 69 = 6 + 9 = 15 = 1 + 5 = 6

The expression number indicates what you are, and therefore suggests how best you may fulfill the purpose revealed by your life path number.

The Esoteric Significance of Numbers

The following summarizes the most common numerological associations for each number:

Zero is a powerful number which brings great transformational change, sometimes occurring in a profound manner. It has much intensity, so caution is needed wherever it appears to ensure that extremes are not encountered.

Although reducible, the numbers 11, 22 and 33 are considered especially significant and are known as the master numbers.

Analysis

There is no doubt of the significance of numbers in our daily lives. We can hardly do anything without thinking, speaking or writing numerically in some way. But numbers in themselves are mere symbols. They represent something else. Like all symbolic systems numbers are like keys. They have little value in themselves except the ability to unlock certain doors and provide access to what lies within.

Numbers don’t cause people to have particular characters, or things to happen or not. Neither do people’s characters or the occurrence of events automatically associate themselves with certain quantities. Rather the more often than chance linkage of particular numbers with personal characteristics and physical happenings suggests some hidden connection between all things, termed synchronicity by Jung. A hidden connection that exists not in the physical realm, but in that which, for want of a better name, we call Spirit.

In order to make best use of the journey of life it is first necessary to know ourselves and our place within the order of things. That belief in numerology has persisted for so long and that it remains pervasive in so many cultures is testimony to its value. Thus, numerology should be one of those tools through which we seek self-knowledge.

Analyzing the numerical significance of our name and birth date yields invaluable food for reflection. Perhaps we will be amazed by its accuracy; perhaps we will delight in refuting its assertions (though others may disagree). Either way, to reflect upon its findings will take us further along our path.

Be guided by numerology along with other esoteric systems. But be a slave to none. Divinatory systems are like roadmaps, they may serve to show us a particular route but are ultimately subordinate to the supremacy of human free will. Be advised by the various esoteric tools such as numerology, but ultimately it is our own inner self that must decide.

Can you read my mind?

Reading one’s mind probably ranks among the highest in people’s list of powers that they would like to have, along with being invisible perhaps. Thus, many would like to know how to read someone’s mind.

Having the power to read people’s mind is not an impossible dream or flight of fancy anymore. Scientists have proven that is already possible and that human beings are in fact natural mind readers. They discovered the ability of the brain to read somebody else’s brain with a high-level experiment with a monkey.

The scientists discovered a cluster of cells in the brain, which they called ‘mirror neurons’, that mirror or reflect other people’s actions, emotions, and even sensations. Like the monkeys, human beings have mirror neurons, which are far more advanced or highly evolved.

These mirror neurons hold the key on how to read someone’s mind. They not so much as mirror, but anticipate what a person would do next after he or she does a certain gesture or action. For instance, if the baby reaches out for a feeding bottle, the person seeing it would automatically deduce that the baby would bring the bottle to his or her mouth and drink the milk from it. So, in effect, the neurons simulate anticipated action and consequently read minds.

These scientific findings however need more researches and experiments. Also, not all human beings have advanced levels of mirror neurons or do not know yet how to enhance such for mind reading. In the meantime, there are a number of techniques taught on how to read someone’s mind.

Eyes, considered to be mirrors of the soul, can be mirrors to people’s minds as well. Many experts cite that reading eyes is the first step to reading minds. When the pupils of someone’s eyes grow big, it means they are interested, excited or even aroused. Thus, you can use this as a gauge of their feelings by mentioning something and checking their pupils’ size. For instance, you can mention a person’s name to someone and you can tell if that person likes or is angry at the person whose name you mentioned.

In understanding how to read someone’s mind or trying to discern what he or she is thinking about, one should pay extra attention not only to the eyes, but to their overall facial expression, body language, spoken words, tone of their voice or manner of speaking. All of these give clues to their state of mind and emotions.

To be good at reading people’s minds, of course takes a lot of practice as well as self-introspection such as meditation. You should be attuned to yourself first before you can even think of reading other peoples thoughts. If you want to be an expert on how to read someone’s mind, you have to be more alert and sensitive to clues and signals coming from other people.

Experts warn though that mind reading has inaccuracy as well. It is not completely accurate because a person’s prejudices, biases, past experiences, and memories affect how they interpret or read peoples thoughts or emotions…

Everyone has angels with them. From the moment you are born, you have at least two guardian angels with you and they will be by your side until you come to the end of your physical life. Nothing you do, say, feel or think can ever make your angels leave your side.

The angels are God’s messengers and helpers and they see you through eyes of unconditional love. Their guidance is always gentle and loving. When you desire help from your angels, you simply need to ask. Because of the Law of Free Will, the angels can only assist you when you request their help or if your life is ever endangered. They hear and attend to your requests, whether you call for them out loud or reach out with your thoughts and feelings. They know the desires of your soul, of your True Self, and always offer loving guidance to point you in the direction of your dreams.

While angels and archangels have been associated with various religions and cultures throughout time, it is important to note that all discussions on this website and in my classes are meant to be non-denominational. The presence of angels has been recorded in history for thousands of years. My feeling is that the angels are divine beings of light who appear to us in whatever form has meaning for us individually. They may have many names, shapes, sizes, and duties. What is most important is our intention when calling upon them.

It is very simple to begin working with and receiving guidance from your angels. They celebrate every moment that we make a conscious effort to connect with them. Your angels want you to call on them for any situation, large or small, and welcome the opportunity to prove their existence to you – again and again. Just begin to establish a relationship with your angels (or any of your spiritual helpers) and watch the miracles unfold.

Some basic steps for beginning to connect with and receive guidance from your angels:

• Take a few deep breaths and centre yourself.
• Envision yourself filling up with white or golden light and then allowing the light to surround you.
• Say a prayer (to whomever you are comfortable praying) asking to watch over and guide you and to assist in the connection between you and your angels.
• Ask your angels to surround you.
• Notice any feelings or sensations you get, as well as any images, sounds, or thoughts that come to you.
• Ask for assistance or guidance.
• Thank your angels.
• Let go of the outcome. Trust that you will receive the guidance or assistance you need, even though it may come in unexpected ways.
• Begin to notice the signs and messages your angels send to guide you.

Your angels may communicate with you in many ways, including through:

• Dreams
• Signs in nature, such as birds or butterflies
• Number sequences
• Synchronicities
• Thoughts, ideas, and inspirations
• Books
• Songs
• Other people

You will know you are receiving guidance from the Angelic Realm when the messages are loving, repetitive, and consistent.

Call upon your Angels whenever you are need. Here are some tips that will help you:

1)      Ask for help – Angels offer us help 24/7; the more receptive we are, the more help they can give us. If you diminish your receptivity you limit the Angels ability to help you. Create your own invocations, or prayers, that specifically call for the help you need. Realize that when you call upon an Angel, that what really happens is that you open yourself into greater receptivity to their assistance.

Realize yourself as fully worthy of Angelic assistance. Angels work with everyone regardless of personal histories and beliefs. Angels are infinite and omnipresent – your request does not diminish them in anyway nor does it affect their ability to be with and help everyone else at the same time. They exist beyond our experience of time and space. The respond to everyone with complete unconditional love.

2)      Connect with your inner divine child – As you call upon the Angels and ask for help. Your inner divine child is whole, innocent and true – and recognizes Angels as true and trustworthy gifts of Creator. This will help create openness, receptivity, excitement, eagerness and wonder as you prepare to receive the gift your Angels have prepared for you.

3)      Hand everything over to the Angels – During your time of invocation and prayer. Every issue, problem, worry and fear as well as every good intention and positive outcome you imagine as the result of your request. Release all expectations of how your request will be answered.

4)      Express Appreciation and Gratitude - Find and express genuine appreciation and gratitude for things exactly as they are. If you are struggling with this, ask the Angels to help you to find the love that is present in whatever difficulty you are facing. Have patience with this and let go of any expectation of how the love may be revealed to you.

5)      Know that it is done - Every prayer is answered and grace is always given. If you fear that your prayer will not be answered, then ask for help in understanding and seeing more clearly. Trust that you will see the love in every answered prayer. You are known completely and loved unconditionally by the Angels and nothing that will serve you is ever withheld from you.

6)      Act quickly on the guidance you receive – Accept the opportunity and act upon it immediately. Angelic help is infinite and unlimited – you cannot use it up or run out of it. You cannot ask for ‘too much’ and the Angels are joyously happy to give to you without limit. The faster you act, the faster you receive more assistance!

7)      Celebrate yourself - Exactly as you are in the moment. Leave any critical judgments or negative feelings about yourself, your life, or others in the hands of the Angels for healing. Even if it is just for a few moments, let go of everything that is not of love for yourself and everything around you. In this moment of surrender much more can done for you by the Angels than you can accomplish on your own. Thank yourself and the Angles for deepening and the relationship between you.

The word ‘Angel‘ means Messenger. Angels are the Messengers of God. The messages they carry and transmit span a wide spectrum of human experience and include words, light, energy, vibration, colour, emotion/feeling and thought. The messages are multi-dimensional and holographic (each message is connected to and contains every message and loving expression of God.)

Angles have never existed in human form, nor do humans become angels when they cross over. ‘The angels’ energetic frequencies are calibrated so that humans can sense, feel, hear, see and sometimes even smell them. In some of my workshops people report that their Angels have the pure scent of flowers: roses, lilacs, violets and so on. You can learn to sense your Angles with one of your five senses. With practice, one of your five senses will lead the others depending on which of your five senses is the most receptive.

Angels bridge our physical reality with their pure spiritual energy that embodies God’s perfect love for us. They bridge heaven to earth and create openings – like doorways – to the divine within you.

There are many different kinds of Angels that embody many of aspects of God’s love for us. Each Angel serves a different function in your life. For instance, in my practice as an Angel Intuitive and spiritual counsellor, I often help people connect with their Messenger Angels and their Guardian Angels. Messenger Angels sometimes take on human form for short periods to give you a message or help you with something in your life. A Guardian Angel is a helping, guiding and personal protector Angel that is always looking over you -from before your birth and beyond the time you cross over.

Defining what an angel is has a lot of people divided in their opinions.

Some believe in quite a traditional religious approach whereby angels are defined by a form of angel hierarchy with archangels being at the top of the angelic hierarchy

Some people believe in a more esoteric form of angelic energy that takes son various forms when lowering its vibration to accommodate being visible in the earthly realms.

A spiritual helper for humankind winged messengers, luminous and closest to God, All that Is high spiritual being appointed by God, Ultimate Source, All that Is to guide, protect and help us, Gods Creation.
The Swedish Mystic Swedenburg once said:
“I am well aware that many will say that no-one can possibly speak with spirits and angels as so long as he is living in the body;
many say it is all fancy, others that I recount such things to win credence,

The consummation of the human being on the physical plane. It is the stage where he enters the Path of Initiation – initiation into the conscious recognition of the spiritual worlds. Through sustained meditation, supported by its two help meets, study and service, the disciple is increasingly making direct contact with the soul’s vibration, and more and more the soul-consciousness is being incorporated to include the lower planes. The soul light is burning ever brighter, and its radiation is lighting up the disciple’s Path.

Each person has both their own Spirit Guides and Angelic Protection. Angels and Spirit Guides are two separate beings. A Spirit Guide was once a living human being, and has been through the evolution of several hundred lifetimes to reach a point where they have chosen to act as a “Guide” or “Teacher” for one or a group of souls. An Angel is not a human being, and never was. They have not lived out lifetimes on Earth, and act as Divine Protectors, messengers of God/Universe, and Superior beings.

Although our loved ones on the other side come to us often in visitation, it is highly unlikely that they become your Spirit Guide after their death. Remember, you are born with two Guides who are present with you always. Your loved ones have other reasons for their visitations, and while they too act as protectors and to share their love with you after death, they may not necessarily be the ones assigned to your Spiritual development in this lifetime.

Channeling has always been part of human connection to higher frequency of thought, as we are experiencing multi-dimensionally is the reception of thought from the spirit world for the purpose of communicating with spirits (non-corporal entities, spirits of the deceased, or nature spirits) and angels. Negative Forms of Energy

Throughout our lives we pick up negative forms of Energy, such as Fear, Doubt, Anger, Judgment, Criticism, Blame and others. Any techniques we find that enable us to let go of these patterns will help to move us toward peace and happiness.

There are many ways to balance your Energy. One approach is A: to become the most complete and loving being you can be. The loving Energy will naturally dissolve the parts of you that are keeping you unbalanced.

Another way of balancing your Energy is through B: 1.Recognition—recognizing the problem. 2. Surrender and Release—putting trust in the highest power, letting go of trying to control how your life will manifest. It is releasing how we think things should be, and knowing that he Divine Source will take control.

If you combine both paths of A: Love and B: the path of Release, you will have the fastest way possible to a balanced, healed state of being.

Three categories that could be used to divide healing methods are:

Mental healing

Mental healing is healing one does with one’s mind. This can be the mind of the person who needs the healing and/or an external person or persons. It is done by visualizing a colour that is conducive to the healing process being around the person, or affected area. For general healing blue is commonly used. The person can also imagine themselves being well. This “positive thinking” can be an added help.

Magnetic healing

Magnetic healing is simply the transfer of energy between the magnetic field (aura) of one person to the aura of another. Often when distressed children hug a parent they are helped this way. The child goes away more “energised”. Some healers use this method; however this is not a very good idea as they are losing energy to each patient. Unless they restrict the number of patients and/or make sure they fully recover their energies they can end up with energy depletion and/or health problems of their own.

Channelled healing

Channelled healing is healing that is transferred from higher (non-physical) sources (such as spirit guides). The big advantage of this is that the healing *channel* (physical person) usually loses none of their own energy. Sometimes both patient and healing channel feel more “energised” afterwards. This form of healing method is often taught by spiritualist mediums in spiritualist groups/churches.

All three methods can be done by most people. Be careful if you come across someone who says that they, and only they, have the “correct” method of healing and/or say that they have re-discovered a healing method. Chances are that they are looking for gullible people (with money) and/or those whose focus is on being “special”. Genuine healers have more of an emphasis on how effective a healing method may be (from the patient’s point of view). Also it is NOT necessary to do a psychic reading of a patient when a healing is done. The body will know where to direct energy to even if you don’t. So, in a sense it doesn’t matter where energy goes in. The meridians, like the blood lines, will direct things as required.

Quantum physics have validated the fact that everything in the universe is created from energy and the various forms of energy are inter-convertible. The mystics and healers of India, China, and Tibet already knew this secret – mind power to manifest and heal, thousands of years ago.

What is Quantum Physics?

Quantum physics is a branch of science that deals with discrete, indivisible units of energy called quanta as described by the Quantum Theory. There are five main ideas represented in Quantum Theory:

1. Energy is not continuous, but comes in small but discrete units.
2. The elementary particles behave both like particles and like waves.
3. The movement of these particles is inherently random.
4. It is physically impossible to know both the position and the momentum of a particle at the same time. The more precisely one is known, the less precise the measurement of the other is.
5. The atomic world is nothing like the world we live in.

While at a glance this may seem like just another strange theory, it contains many clues as to the fundamental nature of the universe and is more important than even relativity in the grand scheme of things (if any one thing at that level could be said to be more important than anything else). Furthermore, it describes the nature of the universe as being much different than the world we see. As Niels Bohr said, “Anyone who is not shocked by quantum theory has not understood it.”

Steps of Energy Healing Meditation

1. Sit reasonably straight and close your eyes.

2. Breath slowly, as silently as possible. (Holding your breath after inhaling or exhaling is not recommended.)

3. As you inhale, feel yourself breathing the healing Life Force in through your solar plexus. Picture this Life Force as a very refined, light energy.

4. As you exhale, gently direct this light energy to the afflicted area. If there is not a specific ailing area, disperse this light energy throughout your body as you exhale.

5. Continue until you feel the area has received enough Life Force.

Although energy healing can be effective for diminishing pain, tension and various localized ailments, if you have a serious illness it is suggested that you see a qualified health practitioner…

Inspirational Dreams

Some dreams provide creative inspiration. Scientist Kekulé discovered the structure of the benzene ring after dreaming if a snake chasing its own tail, as well as sparking many works of art. When faced with a problem or tough decision we are often well advised to “sleep on it”.

If you are faced with a problem, or need some inspiration, just ask that such guidance be given in your dreams before falling asleep. Be sure to record whatever you can recall upon waking and be prepared to interpret it in the light of the guidelines, which follow.

Spiritual Dreams

Spiritual dreams are those dreams that reach not into the depths of our personal subconscious, but which transcend physical reality and touch the realm of Spirit. While sleeping the barriers and inhibitions of the conscious mind is lowered, thus allowing us to be more receptive to psychic and Spiritual reality.

Some, but not all, dreams are Spiritually significant. Such dreams may impart information that couldn’t be obtained by physical means. They may involve communication with loved ones who have passed over, or with your Spirit guide(s).

Spiritual dreams usually appear extra vivid, but they too will quickly escape in the cold light of day, so pay particular attention to the few outstanding dreams and record them, with your other dreams, upon waking. Make a note by any dreams seeming especially clear, vivid, or memorable.

Precognitive Dreams

A particular kind of Spiritual dream is the precognitive dream, ie that which gives foreknowledge of the future.

Once you start recording dreams you may notice some events from your dreams actually happening in real life. These events don’t have to be plane crashes or natural disasters; they will usually be extremely mundane. For example a while ago I dreamt I was sitting in my armchair when I felt a fine spray of water coming over me. A few days later I was out and a very fine rain began. In the words of the saying it “broke my dream”.

This precognitive feature of dreams was noted and extensively documented by J W Dunne in the 1927 classic An Experiment With Time.

Lucid Dreaming

A lucid dream is one in which the dreamer is aware s/he is dreaming and is able to influence the course of the dream. In the language of learning a lucid dream is to a normal dream as a college seminar is to a lecture. In the latter we are passive recipients of information, in the former we are able to interact and control the knowledge delivered.

Like dream recall lucid dreaming is an acquired skill. To develop this ability gets into the habit of asking yourself “am I dreaming?” at various times throughout the day. Combine the question with a physical act like tapping your foot or blinking your eyes. Sooner or later you will ask yourself the question or perform the physical act when you are dreaming. Once you are aware you’re in a dream you can start to direct, as well as act in, your own private midnight movie…

• The Blue Ray is the first Ray of light. The energy of this Flame is the first and final synthesis, the source of all the other energies. • The yellow Ray is the second Ray of light. This is a Ray of consciousness. • The green Ray of light represents concretization, crystallization of substance, knowledge and science. The green Flame is the Flame of balance and Truth. It leads to analysis and development of ideas, especially Divine ideas and impulses that have been conceived in the First Ray of the Blue Flame.  This is the Ray of concentration, as a manifestation of the undisturbed sustained attention, which is attained by consecration. In the green Flame we recognize the seat of the physical healing and perfection. Thursday is the day when the fifth green Ray especially strongly manifests its energies.  Archangel Raphael, the Angel of healing and consecration is in charge of this Light Ray.

• The sixth golden ruby Ray is a Ray of love, devoted service, spiritual healing and idealism. The basic attribute of the sixth golden-ruby Ray is the quality of peace, reached in the process of understanding and accepting the truth, and only after attaining total consecration and dedication. Friday is the day when this Ray exhibits its stronger outpouring. Archangel Uriel, the Angel of Divine service, is the most prominent representative of the ruby Flame.

• The Violet Flame and the seventh Ray of light are the most tangible and most expressive of all seven light Rays and Flames in the visible world. The violet Ray carries along the Divine qualities of love, mercy, compassion, spiritual transfiguration and transformation, and freedom. Saturday is the day of its strongest expression. Archangel Zadkiel, the Angel of ceremony and invocation of the Divine powers, is the most prominent representative of the violet Flame from the realm of Angelic beings.

Our Personal Rays

Each of us has a set of bodies, of which the Physical is only one. The others include the Mental Body, and the Emotional Body. We also each have a Soul group — the larger entity of which we are a part; a Personality essence — our outward side, or the way we interface with the physical world; and a Monad to which we belong — the group of Souls that are engaged in whatever is our mission on the Earth plane.

A “Ray Reading” is like an astrological chart, only it describes which of the 7 Rays overlight each of the 7 aspects of self listed above. You can find people who do these readings by searching on the Internet.

Here are some of the kinds of results that can occur through the influence of the Rays on the various “bodies” of our being.

For example, let us say that our Emotional Body is overlighted by the Fourth Ray. Since this Fourth Ray IS an emotional energy, we would be doubly affected in our emotions by whatever happens to us. If someone asks us, “What do you seek in this lifetime?” we might answer, “I seek peace of mind!” And our highest criterion of value would probably be “beauty” — that which evokes the emotional response of love, gratitude, peace, harmony, and truth.

What if our personality is in the First Ray? Then even when we have the purest motives, we may appear dominating to others, whose experiences of power in this and past lives are not always of the best.

It’s been said, “Those who can, do, and those who can’t, teach.” But it’s probably more accurate to say that if our Monad is overlighted by the Second Ray, we will almost surely be teaching in some form, whereas if it’s overlighted by the Third Ray, we will be out “in the world” making things happen.

These are just a few examples. According to RLP, Djwahl Khul says that one of our jobs in this lifetime is to balance the Ray energy of our Soul with that of our Personality.

Invocation to the Rays

When we are doing inner work, we can call forth the energy of the Rays, asking the Archangels of each Ray to imbue us with the attributes of the Creator in these specific ways.

And when we are experiencing the negatives of some of the Rays, we can ask the Archangels to send us the energies we need to counterbalance these. For example, if we are experiencing the indecisiveness that comes from Fourth Ray tendencies to look on all sides of any question, we might call upon AA Michael and the First Ray energies to mobilize our Will.

Especially, we may ask that all of the energies affecting us always be balanced by the over-arching energy of the Divine Plan, so all that we think and all that we do may be “in Love and Service.”

4. Slowly open your eyes when you sense that the jar has been fully charged. Set the jar down. Start dropping the coins into it. A few will do; you don’t need to fill the jar up right away. Then, feel the jar activated by your psychic ability, already working its magic. Know that it will multiply the amount of coins it will have and draw them all back to you.

5. Put the jar at any place in your home or work area where you will see it everyday. Place some coins in it as often as you can. Whenever you do, visualize each coin being empowered by your psychic ability. Continue doing this until the jar is full.

6. When the jar is full, know that all the coins contained in it are empowered to multiply. Start spending them – you can take some to get something from the vending machine, help out someone who needs change, or buy an item from the store. You do not need to spend everything in one go – just take from the jar as needed. For each time you take coins from it and spend them, visualize each empowered coin only temporarily leaving your possession to bring you back more of its kind. Our relationships with others provide many of the most satisfying – and frustrating – moments of the human experience.

On the one hand we are instinctively driven to seek the companionship of our fellow beings, indeed such is the complexity of the modern world that out very survival depends on co-operating with numerous others. But conversely our dealings with other people force us to sacrifice, compromise, inhibit our liberty, and are an endless source of disappointment and anger when our peers fall short of our reasonable expectations.

Our relationships take many forms. Family, friends, neighbours, business, acquaintances… Some of these are of our choosing others just come with the territory. Understanding how to handle each of these relationships effectively will yield a smoother and more fulfilling journey through life.

Why are relationships important?

From the Spiritual perspective our dealings with others is of the utmost significance and a major part of our raison d’être. The fundamental nature of Spirit, from which we all come and of which we are all part, is unity. Everything is part of the one great wholeness.

The eternal quest of Spirit is for growth, but the growth that comes from the interaction between different players cannot happen without the differentiation of the on into the many. Hence we are born as separate entities in physical form that we might play out our roles, ultimately furthering the growth of Spirit.

The paradox of relationships

Our relationships with others are hugely paradoxical. The highest emotion of which we are capable is unconditional love, to place the welfare of another higher than our own – no matter what. To experience unconditional love, either towards or from another being is possibly the highest privilege in this world. We may hold it for our nearest and dearest, our parents, our partner, our children… A few more advanced souls may hold it for larger groups, or even the whole of humanity. But this is too tall an order for most.

Towards the majority, for whom we sadly don’t hold unconditional love, we are often fiercely competitive. We want the better job, bigger house and faster car etc. than the guy across the street. Sometimes, as a species, we’ll resort to the most heinous acts to further our welfare at the expense of others.

But for all the bad stuff, acts of altruism towards strangers greatly outnumber those of hostility, as witnessed by the level of charitable donations, or the level of response to natural disasters such as earthquakes or tsunamis. Even holding the door for someone to enter a building demonstrates our basic kindness.

Darwin highlighted the merits of competitiveness in his theory of evolution. The comforts of the material plane are available in proportion to worldly success, and by implication this means doing better than the next man. But being the “higher” species carries with it the concept of noblesse oblige. Most obviously in developed societies this comes in the form of progressive taxation – the more you earn, the more tax you pay! But consider how many wealthy folk voluntarily support numerous good causes.

The conflict between our underlying and eternal brotherhood and our limited individuality and rivalry is the cause of much difficulty in relationships. Awareness of this conflict, along with that of our innate feeling towards others, is the first step to building and maintaining successful and fulfilling relationships.

Know thyself

Some of us are more inclined to pursue relationships than others. For some socializing is a pleasure, for others it ranges from being a chore to the painfully unpleasant. The insightful psychologist Jung categorized these types as extrovert and introvert respectively. Knowing where you stand on this continuum and adapting accordingly will assist greatly in your inevitable dealings with others.

The golden rule

Remember, ultimately we are all one, but while incarnate we assume the role of competitive individuals. Your role on earth is to try your best in your chosen field, but in your dealings with others let your conscience be your guide. Ultimately, the ethic of reciprocity should form the foundation of your relationships. Do we all have a spirit guide?

Absolutely, everyone has a spirit guide, everyone has guardian angels, we’re not here alone and it’s about spending the time to get to know your guides, just like we spend time to create beautiful relationships in our lives.

Spirit Guides are discarnate beings that have chosen to assist us on our path of spiritual enlightenment and unfoldment; their evolution to higher consciousness is bound with our own, thus we have responsibility for each other. The more aware we become of these loving spirits, the more aware we become of our own thoughts, words, and actions; we are reflections of their efforts and they of ours. Though we are separate and individual, we are bound to the truth of our spiritual oneness. How better to be evidence of our relationship with God, Spirit, and Man with love, courage, and upliftment? Guides are a highly evolved world intelligence who administers guidance, protection, assistance, psychic information, and hidden knowledge to an Earthling; this intelligence has lived many incarnations and is more evolved than the person he/she serves (though angels are an exception to this rule as, in general, they have not incarnated on earth). The Guide does not intercede unless called by the Earthling (though there are exceptions).

Guides communicate with you through mediumship, which is a compatible sharing of time, energy, talent, and intellect between an earthling and an etheric world intelligence: the objective is to bring knowledge to the earth world that cannot be obtained through normal educational sources. A human body is used as a psychic instrument for etheric communication and matter manipulation to enrich mankind’s education regarding the growth of the soul-mind; the desire and willingness of the etheric world intelligence and the earthling to work together is shared, regardless of difficulties and time, until here is the proper synchronization, both physically and mentally, for the relaying of matter that can be beneficial in some manner. Forms of mediumship can be mental or physical.

The ways that your Guide may choose to communicate with your through mental mediumship are through clair senses, a collective word meaning any one of the types of psychic sensitivity that correspond to the normal five senses: these are clairaudience (to perceive sounds or words when no person is speaking or no article is causing the disturbance; these sounds and impressions register on the spirillae of the pineal gland and go through the same process that normal hearing go through in the Third Eye area of the head), clairsavorance (clear tasting; experience tastes in the moth without putting anything in the mouth), clairscient (to smell a fragrance or odor of a substance which is not in one’s surroundings and is symbolic information for oneself or another), clairsentience (to perceive information b a feeling within the whole body without any other stimuli related to this feeling or information, which comes from within the body, down the kundalini to the stomach area), and clairvoyance (to see into an ethereal dimension without using physical eyes; to reach into another vibration frequency and visually perceive “within the head” something significant).

Knowing the names of our guides is nice; it helps to establish them as “real people” in our minds. It is not, however, necessary; they will answer when you call. It is of great help to ask and thank verbally until solid rapport is established through your vibrations. When you call a guide in, frequently a guide will give the psychic a name that can be used to summon him/her; the guide may be either gender when manifesting. The guide will be from the Inner Band, a system of easy access to energy, protection, guidance, and knowledge. Each guide has a specific part to play, but the cooperation between the guides is such that any one of them can and may assume another’s role. The group situation ranges from the strictly traditional everyone-does-his thing, to the one-guide-does-it-all situation. In general, there are 10-15 spirits around one individual, between the inner and outer bands, which are the spirits that spend only at time in which he or she can be of assistance. The guides from the outer band are drawn to one’s vibration when their talent and knowledge will be of an aid to the earthling to enhance the earthling’s new interest and needs. A Specialty guide would fall into this category; they are those with past experience in a certain field, for whom the medium would have to ask for specifically…

Meditation is all about drawing our attention from the outer world to the inner. An effective way to increase your awareness of your spirit guides is to create a special place in your mind where you can meet them. Begin by sitting in a comfortable chair, and away from any distractions. When you feel ready, close your eyes and begin taking three or four deep breaths, letting them out slowly, and as you do this, feel all the stress and concerns of the day leave your body with every breath. Next place your attention on your breathing and notice the sinking feeling that you get on each of the out breaths. Use this as a vehicle to allow yourself to let go and relax even more.

As your body begins to feel more relaxed imagine a gate with a path leading from it, there are no people in sight. The path winds its way through a pasture filled with lush green grass and wild flowers. The sky is blue with just a few fluffy white clouds. Imagine wandering along this path soaking in the scenes that are around you. Try and see if you can sense any fragrances or hear the sounds of birds as you walk slowly along this path. Before you, the pasture begins to gradually slop downhill and leads to a wooded area, which you enter. The floor is covered in blue bells and the sun beams through the branches warming your face and body. You next come to a stream, the water looks so inviting that you take off your shoes and socks and step into the stream, as you do so you feel all the stress and stains of the day just pouring out through the souls of your feet into the stream where they are washed away. As you slowly walk up stream you reach the source of the water, where there’s a clearing. The grass is lush and the floor is covered in your favourite flowers. In the centre of the clearing there’s a small tree with an old wooden bench besides it. You sit down on the bench and enjoy the beauty of this wonderful place.

This is your private space your inner sanctuary, whenever you visit it you feel comfortable and protected, it is a place where the physical and spiritual worlds meet. Remember that you are in control and you can allow or disallow any one from entering it. It is a place that you have created through the power of your imagination. You can change or alter it to suite yourself. Alternatively, you can create a scenario totally different, for example you may choose to climb a mountain and discover a temple at the top.

As you sit quietly you notice a figure approaching who walks slowly towards you. Notice what the person is wearing, is it male or female, old or young. The person asks if they can sit down besides you. At this point you could ask them a question, and also their name. Don’t force the answers; let them come naturally and effortlessly. Quite often the answer comes at a later time, or, when you least expect it. So don’t become impatient or disheartened if you don’t get an answer first time. Finally, as the person gets up to leave they tell you that they have something for you. You open your hand and they place an object on it. The object is personal to you and will have a symbolic meaning, and it’s worth pondering the meaning once you’ve finished your meditation. As your spirit guide leaves you thank them and say goodbye.

You then make your way back the way you came until you reach the gate. As you do so feel yourself returning back into your body and be aware of the room and sounds around you. Lastly, imagine the flower shaped chakras closing their petals, beginning from the base (red) to the crown (violet). When you feel ready and back to full consciousness open your eyes, stretch and take some deep breaths.

One of the main obstacles in making contact with your spirit guides through meditation is the effect of one’s logical mind stepping in and thinking it was all imagination or wishful thinking and not reality. Perseverance and questioning is the key to developing a good sound relationship with your spirit guides. You shouldn’t accept everything that your guides say. But it’s also interesting to be aware of one’s own blind spots, or things that are pointed out to us that we would rather pretend weren’t there. For example, our intolerance or refusal to change our point of view in a relationship. Or the need to face up to an issue that may cause disharmony in our lives.

A common mistake people make is assuming that ‘seeing’ involves the use of the eyes when in a closed state. Do not strain to see. You do not have to have your eyes closed to access your third eye however in the beginning it is recommend to shut out all distractions…

Various impediments stand in the way of inducing second sight, and certain others may be expected to arise in connection with the faculty when induced. Putting aside the greatest of all obstacles, that of constitutional unfitness, as having already been discussed in the preceding pages, the first obstacle to be encountered is that of ill health. It can hardly be expected that new areas can be opened up in the mind without considerable change and adjustment taking place by reflection in the physical economy. The reaction is likely to be attended by physical distress. But Nature is adaptable and soon accommodates herself to changed conditions, so that any results directly attributable to the development of the psychic centres of activity is not likely to be more than transient, providing that due regard has been given to the normal requirements of health.
The importance of a moderate and nourishing diet cannot be too strongly urged upon those who seek for psychic development. All overloading of the stomach with indigestible food and addiction to alcoholic drinks tend to cloud the higher faculties. The brain centres are thereby depleted, the heart suffers strain, and the equilibrium of the whole system is disturbed. Ill health follows, the mind is centred upon the suffering body, spiritual aspiration ceases, and the neglected soul folds its wings and falls into the sleep of oblivion.
But, on the other hand, one must not suppose that the adoption of a fruit and cereal diet will of itself induce to the development of the psychic powers. It will aid by removing the chief impediments of congestion and disease. Many good people who adopt this dietetic reform have a tendency to scratch one another’s shoulder blades and expect to find their wings already sprouting. If it were as easy as this the complacent cow would be high up in the scale of spiritual aspirants.
The consciousness of man works from a centre which co-ordinates and includes the phenomena of thought, feeling, and volition. This centre is capable of rapid displacement, alternating between the most external of physical functions and the most internal of spiritual operations. It cannot be active in all parts of our complex constitutions at one and the same moment. When one part of our nature is active another is dormant, as is seen in the waking and sleeping stages, the dream-life being in the middle ground between the psychic and physical. It will therefore be obvious that a condition in which the consciousness is held in bondage by the infirmities of the body is not one likely to be conducive to psychic development. For this reason alone many aspirants have been turned back from initiation. The constitution need not be robust, but it should at all events be free from disorder and pain. Some of the most ethereal and spiritual natures are found in association with a delicate organism. So long as the balance is maintained the soul is free to develop its latent powers. A certain delicacy of organization, together with a tendency to hyperaesthesia, is most frequently noted in the passive or direct seer; but a more robust and forceful constitution may well be allied to the positive type of seership.
As a chronic state of physical congestion is altogether adverse to the development of the second sight or any other psychic faculty, so the temporary congestion following naturally upon a meal indicates that it is not advisable to sit for psychic exercise immediately after eating. Neither should a seance be begun when food is due, for the automatism of the body will naturally demand satisfaction at times when food is usually taken and the preliminary processes of digestion will be active. The best time is between meals and especially between tea and supper, or an hour after the last meal of the day, supposing it to be of a light nature. The body should be at rest, and duly fortified, and the mind should be contented and tranquil.

The attitude of the would-be seer should not be too expectant or over-anxious about results. All will come in good time and the more speedily if the conditions are carefully observed. It is useless to force the young plant in its growth. Take time, as Nature does. It is a great work and much patience may be needed. Nature is never in a hurry, and therefore she brings everything to perfection. The acorn becomes the sturdy oak only because Nature is content with small results, because she has the virtue of endurance. She is patient and careful in her beginnings, she nurses the young life with infinite care, and her works are wonderfully great and complete in their issues. Moreover, they endure. Whoever breathes slowest lives the longest.
This statement opens up a very important matter connected with all psychic phenomena, and one that deserves more than casual notice. It has been long known to the people of the East that there is an intimate connection between brain and lung action, and modern experiment has shown by means of the spirometer that the systole and diastole motion of the hemispheres of the brain coincide exactly with the respiration of the lungs. The brain as the organ of the mind registers every emotion with unerring precision. But so also do the lungs, as a few common observations will prove. Thus if a person is in deep thought the breathing will be found to be long and regular, but if the mind is agitated the breathing will be short and stertorous, while if fear affects the mind the breathing is momentarily suspended. A person never breathes from the base of the lung unless his mind is engrossed. Hard exercise demands deep breathing and is therefore helpful in producing good mental reactions. It is said that the great preacher De Witt Talmage used to shovel gravel from one side of his cellar to the other as a preliminary to his fine elocutional efforts. It is this obvious connection between respiration and mental processes which is at the base of the system of psycho-physical culture known as _Hatha Yoga_ in distinction from _Râj Yoga_, which is concerned solely with mental and spiritual development. The two systems, which have of late years found frequent exposition in the New Thought school, are to be found in Patanjali’s _Yoga sutrâ_. Some reference to the synchronous action of lung and brain will also be found in Dr. Tafel’s translation and exposition of Swedenborg’s luminous work on _The Brain_. In this work the Swedish seer frankly refers his illumination regarding the functions of the brain to his faculty of introspective vision or second sight, and it is of interest to observe that all the more important discoveries in this department of physiology during the last two centuries are clearly anticipated by him. The scientific works of this great thinker are far too little known by the majority, who are apt to regard him only as a visionary and a religious teacher.
_Ad rem_. The vision is produced. The faculty of clairvoyance is an established fact of experience and has become more or less under the control of the mind. There will yet remain one or two difficulties connected with the visions. One is that of time measure, and another that of interpretation. The former is common to both orders of vision, the direct and the symbolic. The difficulty of interpretation is, of course, peculiar to the latter order of vision.
The sensing of time is perhaps the greatest difficulty encountered by the seer, and this factor is often the one that vitiates an otherwise perfect revelation. I have known cartomantes and diviners of all sorts to express their doubt as to the possibility of a correct measure of time. Yet it is a question that follows naturally upon a clear prediction–When?

It is sometimes impossible to determine whether a vision relates to the past, the present, or the future. In most cases, however, the seer has an intuitive sense of the time-relations of a vision which are borne in upon him with the vision itself. It will generally be observed that in ordinary mental operations the time sense is subject to localization, and a distinct throw of the mind will be experienced when speaking of the past and the future. Personally I find the past to be located on my left and the future on my right hand, but others inform me that the habit of mind, places the past behind and the future in front of them, while others again have the past beneath their feet and the future over their heads. It is obviously a habit of mind, and this usually inheres in the visionary state so that a sense of time is found to attach to all visions, though it cannot be relied upon to register on every occasion. But also it is frequently found that there is an automatic allocation of the visions, those that are near of fulfilment being in the foreground of the field, the approximate in the middle ground, and the distant in the background; position answering to time interval. In such case the vision has a certain definition or focus according to the degree of its proximity. These points are, however, best decided by empiricism, and rarely does it happen that the intuitive sense of the seer is at fault when allowed to have play.
The other difficulty, to which I have referred, that of interpretation of symbols when forming the substance of the vision, may be dealt with somewhat more fully. Symbolism is a universal language and revelation most frequently is conveyed by means of it. As a preliminary to the study of symbolism the student should read Swedenborg’s _Hieroglyphical Key to Natural and Spiritual Mysteries_, one of the earliest of his works and in a great measure the foundation of his thought and teaching. The Golden Book of Hermes containing the twenty-two Tarots is open to a universal interpretation as may be seen from the works of the Kabalists, and in regard to their individual application may be regarded in a fourfold light, having reference to the spiritual, rational, psychic and physical planes of existence. It is by means of symbols that the spiritual intelligences signal themselves to our minds, and the most exalted vision is, as an expression of intelligence, only intelligible by reason of its symbolism. Something more may be said in regard to the interpretation of symbols which may possibly be of use to those who have made no special study of the subject, and this may conveniently form the material of another chapter…
